Comets golfers finished with a top 3 finish at Round Barn Monday night with a score of 196. Rochester came away with the win with a score of 168. Comets were just edged out by the Triton Trojans who came in with a 186. Max Sommers led the Comets with a 47 followed by Luke Graham with a 48. Owen Chapman shot a 50, Gage Thomas fired a 51, and Jace Rentschler rounded out the top 5 with a 52. Other notable scores were Braydon Unger with a 51 and Chas Warpenburg with a 52. Coach Rentschler commented after the round, “Anytime you can get a top 3 finish, it’s a good day on the golf course. We can absolutley play with the teams that are beating us. We have to work on our putting and our course management and as a team can easily shave 6-10 strokes per player. We hope to bounce back with a strong showing tomorrow at home versus Knox and Demotte Christian.”
