Two Lady Comet wrestlers competed in the Sarah Hildebrandt Invitational at Penn High School in Mishawaka on Saturday. The ladies were excited to meet and get pictures with the famous Olympian! The Comet wrestlers, sophomores Piper Roudebush and Emmy Zabel, had their first varsity matches at the invite. They had a slow start in the first round, but made much improvement by the second round. They are looking forward to their next match against Wabash on Thursday, November 21. A 2011 graduate of Penn High School, Hildebrandt became the first female to qualify for the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) Wrestling Semi-State competition and led Penn High School to the IHSAA Team Championship. She is ranked as the #1 wrestler in the USA in her 110 lb weight class. She won a bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics in 2020 and captured the gold medal this past summer in France! This first match of the season is going to be hard to top for these ladies!
