Following the program's first ever semistate appearance and a remarkable 22-4 record, Lady Comet head basketball coach Josh Douglass is excited to get this new season underway and see what his team can do as an encore. The Comets lost 5 seniors off of last year's squad. Douglass knows there could be some growing pains as girls take on new roles. Seniors Olivia Thomas and Kaitie Hutsell will look to add a veteran presence, while returning starter, sophomore Madisyn Douglass, will also expand her leadership role. Additionally, several freshmen could enter the lineup and contribute in their first varsity season. Douglass added this about the upcoming season: "We're looking forward to a new season with a lot of new faces to the program. We lost 5 seniors last year and hope to build on the momentum that they left behind. We have 17 girls out this year and 9 of them are freshmen. We are excited to get the season started!" The Lady Comets will host Tippy Valley in the annual scrimmage on Thursday, October 31st. The season opener is a week later on Thursday, November 7th, when the West Central Lady Trojans visit Caston with a scheduled 7:30 tip
