Head volleyball coach Gina Hierlmeier leads the Lady Comets in her third season at the helm. The Comets will be young as they were hit hard due to graduation. Six seniors were lost from the 2023 squad who helped lead the Comets to their first ever Cass County volleyball title. Only two players who saw significant varsity action return from last season. There's a solid core of underclassmen and 25 athletes on the roster, so Coach Hierlmeier has options to work with and will mix and match rotations early in the season. Hierlmeier had this to say on the upcoming season, "After graduating a large senior class that had a lot of success, our goal is to continue to improve with each match this season to be at our peak by sectional time." The Lady Comet volleyball squad opens their season at home on Tuesday, August 13th, in a scrimmage against Logansport. Then they'll head to the Berry Bowl on Saturday, August 17th to defend their crown in the Cass County Invitational where they will square off against perennial power Pioneer at 5 pm.
