The 7th grade Comet volleyball team ended their season on a high note last Saturday, October 10th, by winning the conference crown. They avenged a loss earlier in the season to Triton by defeating the host Trojans, 2-0, on Thursday to advance to Saturday's semifinals. In the semis, the Comets took down North Miami, 2-0, and then also swept Winamac in the championship match, 2-0, after trailing 15-5 in the first set. For the season, the squad finished 19-3 while claiming the Cass County and HNAC championships. Coach Alli Miller had this to say about the season, "This group of girls was such a fun group to coach. They really came together to fight for their wins. They showed what it meant to be a great teammate by encouraging one another and cheering when someone else got to play. They showed grit when they were tired and persevered as a team. They truly made this season so special!"
