Caston Jr-Sr High School

The Athletic Department at Caston High School was one of approximately 40 schools around the state to be recognized with an IHSAA Sportsmanship Banner at a presentation earlier this month. This is an honor that our Student Athletic Council set out as a goal to achieve for the 25-26 school year. The banner that will be on display proudly represents the character, class, and sportsmanship displayed by our student-athletes, coaches, school, and Comet fans. For a school to achieve one of these banners, they must meet the requirements of each of the following categories: 1. Maintain a numerical Sportsmanship Score of 100+ points AND cannot have more than one coach ejection - reductions in this point total include unsportsmanlike conduct penalties (-1pt), red cards (-1pt), technical fouls (-1pt), and ejections of fans and/or student athletes (-5pts) 2. Support a Student Athlete Council 3. Community Outreach Project - our "Comets Fight Together" week for cancer awareness 4. Positive Culture Development - our athletes attending the IHSAA leadership conference at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the HNAC leadership conference held at Grace College All Comets should be proud! This award is a community-wide accomplishment. Sportsmanship is shaped by the way we compete, coach, cheer, support officials, encourage opponents, and represent Caston in our community and across the state. It's our standard Congratulations to everyone who helped make this recognition possible. These Comets hope to go back-to-back in 26-27!
