September 22 2026 2026 IHSAA Sectional Results The Lady Comets were part of a 12 team IHSAA Girls Golf sectional held at the Tippecanoe Country Club in Monticello IN. Despite the cold and wet weather the Lady Comets competed well and finished 9th out of 12 teams defeating Winamac, Demotte Christian and Tri-County. Caston Scores Team: 473 (9th place) Individual: Alyssa Smith: 109 Audrey Ault: 119 Paisley Strasser: 122 Lyla Gebhardt: 123 Ava Russell: 127 Coach’s comments: The 2026 Caston Ladies Golf banquet will be held on Monday, November 2 to celebrate the accomplishments of the eight young ladies who made up the 2026 Comet lady linksters: Anna Rude, Audrey Ault, Alyssa Smith, Ava Russell, Leah Ehlinger, Lyla Gerhardt,Paisley Strasser and Olivia Taylor. Lyla ,Olivia, and Paisley will receive their Varsity certificate, their Big C and golf chevron, while Alyssa, Ava, Leah, Anna and Audrey will receive their Varsity certificate and golf chevron. The future looks bright for the Comet ladies golf team with all eight varsity players coming back and at least one young lady from the Junior High team moving into varsity competition. I want to thank the ladies for playing this year and give a huge thank you to the parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, and any other family members that came out to support, not only their golfer but all of the ladies. Also, thank you to Athletic Director Trent Tocco for moving a few matches around to alleviate golf course crowding, and Chuck Warpenburg and Josh Lowe for getting us to the course and back with no problems. 2026 was a good year for the Lady Comets; the ladies won more matches this year than any other in the last six years. We had our best finish ever in the IHSAA sectional and over the season every golfer shot their lowest score ever in a 9 hole match. In addition, the life lessons learned along the way will pave the way for success in whatever endeavors the ladies choose to pursue. Looking forward to 2027
