The air was cool and clear, and the Comets were ready to run at Winamac Town Park for the 2023 Hoosier North Athletic Conference meet on Saturday. Securing All-Conference Titles were: Edison Byrum (4th), Kane Finke(10th), Isaac Albright (5th), Reuben Helt (11th), Jack Brumett (14th), Hannah Rogers (1st), and Elizabeth Sprow (8th). Reed Sommers (12th), Max Sommers (14th), and Camila Hernandez-Rios (14th) were recognized as runners up for All-Conference. And, looking at the placings, we can't omit celebrating Hannah Rogers as MS girls HNAC individual champion! While unable to clench team titles, the Varsity boys grabbed Second Place, and the Middle School boys placed Third (neither girls team was complete for this event). Finally, we need to celebrate the runners who set season, and especially career, best times. Running career best times were: Edison Byrum, Kane Finke, Reed Sommers, Max Sommers, Josiah Helt, Jace Rentschler, Camila Hernandez-Rios, Breana Amezquita, Isaac Albright, Reuben Helt, Jack Brumett, Malakai Clayton, Lincoln Holliman, Hannah Rogers, and Elizabeth Sprow. Running their best times of the 2023 season were Braden Rush and Drew Douglass. The varsity comets will run next Saturday at North Miami before competing in Sectional racing at Logansport on October 14th.
