The 7th Grade Lady Comets traveled to Maconaquah Middle School to compete in the annual Miami County Tournament and returned home with the tourney title. The Comets defeated the Peru Lady Tigers in the opening round contest, 35-25, a game in which they trailed 14-5 early in the first half. They then took on Maconaquah in the championship game, defeating the host Lady Braves 23-14. Coach Spangler had this to say on the two wins. "The team came into today's tournament on a mission after a one point loss earlier in the season to Peru. We stayed disciplined with their full-court press and contained Peru's bigs down low. We held them to just 3 points in the 4th quarter. Overall, today was a total team effort and I'm so proud of these young ladies for their determination throughout the day!"
