On Friday, Caston senior athlete, Gavin Mollenkopf, signed with Bethel College to continue his athletic career at the collegiate level. The three-sport athlete for the Comets has decided to play baseball for the Pilots under the tutelage of Caston alum, Seth Zartman. Mollenkopf said, "The thing I’m most looking forward to at Bethel is getting to play the sport I love with others who love that same sport. Also just meeting new people. I felt like Bethel was the right place for me when I met Coach Zartman. He not only just cares about your development on the field but also through Christ as well." So far in his high school career, Mollenkopf has played in 73 games and has hit for a .318 average with 14 doubles, 55 runs scored, and 58 runs batted in. He has helped lead the Comets to a 46-29 record over that span with one more season to play, in which he's hoping to cap off with a conference and sectional crown
